Breaking news: Positively Palermo now has the e-mail that indicates that the Palermo HOA monthly due will stay at the $294 level by the board's action. By our calculation, the dues were last hiked up in late 2011 to start in the next year. Dues were not increased for 2013 so this will mean no increase from January 2012, through 2013, and through December of 2014. With dues increasing at over 25 bucks a pop before this three-year period, the Palermo dues could have been approaching $400 per month by now, driving some for their homes. Interestingly, the e-mail suggests that the Palermo reserves have tripled over these two years. Miss Penny Lane says: Her make-up fund won't have to be raided in 2014, so she is happy but she'd gladly reduce her cosmetics bills for Palermo.

Thanks for the break from higher fees. I wish we had this board in Washington DC instead of taxers who can't meet a budget. It is fiscally wrong just to take more and more from us. Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LIVING WITHIN YOUR MEANS seems to be a thing of the past. The HOA board should get that! and not raise the dues. No dues raise.
I cannot believe the HOA is rising the dues. Look at the budget and cut the very fatness. Just sick. Why are u making us pay more? Yes, live within YOUR means. Do not tax us more. Every year an increase????

As I recall, this is the 3rd year in a row with dues of $294. I'm not sure where 10:06 is getting their information from or is it just the usual suspect trying to stir things up again?

I am back down for the week (again! for us) and we are wowed by the improvements and not dues hike and reserves up to boot.
$294.00 is very very low monthly. It is rather surprising how Palermo how weathered this economic storm. They are repainting all the homes and putting in palm trees without a monthly increase when other places are imposing assessments.
