No, this isn't the snow-covered Midwest. It's Palermo Palm Springs

This isn't a scene from the Midwest or parts of Canada where many Palermo Palm Springs owners have their main residences, and where knee-deep amounts of snow have fallen or it's bitter cold. Right now, it's 6 degrees F in Minneapolis and minus 11 degrees F in Winnipeg. It's sunny and 78 degrees F at Palermo Palm Springs. But Palermo-ites can get a taste of a winter wonderland by taking a glimpse of the festive village set up inside one window on Sunburst Boulevard. At night, there are colorful lights twinkling outside. (Many thanks to the resident for sending in these pictures.) Miss Penny Lane says: She enjoys gazing at the wintery village as she walks to the pool in her swimsuit with a beach towel and sunscreen in hand.

At least Tundra Tabby has lots of fur to keep them warm.

I'm here visiting my lonely little condo here at Palermo, while back home in Ohio, I think my house looks just like this village scene. In fact, I will soon be a part of that winter scenario sooner, rather than later. :( But, for now, I'm enjoying swimsuits, short sleeves, & flipflops! Merry Christmas, everyone~~~see ya later this year. I've enjoyed my short stay.

The snow is up to the tip of my tail here, but fip-flops and sunscreen will shortly be in my future! See you all soon!

TundraTabby in flip-flops (two pairs?) and a fur coat - I need to see that! Bundle up for now.

There's plenty here to keep Tabby warm and cozy.

Thanks for sharing the wonderful Palermo Christmas decorations. Sorry for this question here, but does anyone know why the pools are not heated?

Really? One of them has been really warm/too hot. Which one? The spas seem to be on all the time now. Is it all hit or miss?

My friends stayed at Palermo early in December and said that the little pool & spa were not heated. Can someone check to see if the smaller pool and spa are heated? We love to swim when we are there. And I definitely think they should be heated especially since our dues went up! If they are not, I will write an email to Brandi at DRM...thanks.

Maybe Penny can put a post up about the pools. I have seen VPM renters go and turn up the heat, and now the HOA fees are going up partly because of the gas heating of the pools. I am wondering if the pools are going back and forth between being too hot and too cold because people are changing the temp. Also, were the pools turned down lately because of the big gas bills and we weren't not told. I don't know but just want some answers and communication.

NOBODY should be able to have access to turning the temperature up or down! But that is what our friends witnessed while spending a week at Palermo. They saw some guy turning the temperature down and then the pool was freezing. Of course the constant up and down is going to cost money! Aren't the controls under lock and key so only DRM representatives control the temp accordingly? Ridiculous!
