Checking lunchtime e-mails, Positively Palermo has discovered that the power is out at Palermo Palm Springs. A resident says the exit gate on Indian Canyon Drive is working, so thanks to the board for working on this after the last outage. Miss Penny Lane asks: Will it be a candlelight dinner tonight?
10/1 UPDATE: One resident reported that the front exit gate functioned during the outage, but there also were other reports of problems at the front entry gate and back exit gate. We trust the management will sort this out and report back to residents.

power is back on now....gates didn't work exactly like they should. half of the exit gate was open originally and that was it! finally someone got the remaining portions of the gates open, with the exception of the san raphael gate.
Hello Everyone, it is me Perry. I was home when the power went off and I figured since the NWP was going be involved with emergence stuff I went right out to the gate to see what could be done to get it open for everyone. I was very happy to see that it was open. I walked around and told some of the pople on my street but could not email it since my computer was not up. NWP does its first official act :) YEA!!!

I saw the exit gate open when a car approached it. It looked like the exit gate was working to get out. I wonder if it later broke (??)
Double that. Thanks Perry. Today may have been a good test run for the watch/disaster prep - we need to remember we just can't rely on email because of the power. I just happened to check this site and was glad cuz I then didn't go home for lunch because the power was out. Anyhow, a cell phone calling tree or something is something to think about down the road to alert neighbors. Perry don't get discouraged - it will just take getting the message out repeatedly to get involvement. I like the idea of making it fun.

Like they say it is not the things I know can go wrong that scares me it is the things I didn't think about :) I tried to get to Brandy to see exactally how the gate is supposed to work but she is out until the 6th. Perry, thanks. The gate was working when I left during the power outage but a neighbor said something about the entry gate and problems, and the back gate didn't work but I don't think they fixed that one anyway. Brandy is out until the 6th? Who do we contact in the meantime with concerns. I don't understand why there's no t a back up at DRM,other management companies have overlap, but last time I needed Brandy she was gone, too, and NO ONe could unless it was an "emergency" - that's wrong.
Hello Everyone, its me Perry. I did not look for a back up when I found out the Brandy was out. I just figured I would handle it when she got back, I was hoping that she would of done the research on the sighning laws since I'm not sure where to start with that. Anyone have any ideas and might be able to help me out? I will come to this part of the post often to see if anyone has any ideas or needs me.
