Indian Canyon Drive between Palermo and the 10 freeway has been closed due to the rain. Miss Penny Lane says: She's soaking in the rain.

First of the unsold condos enter the Palm Springs market

And it begins. The first of the unsold homes at Palermo, built by the Enterprise Cos. and then bank-owned and now privately held, have gone on the market today. It was in November of 2010 that the front doors of the 34 units then-owned by the Enterprise Cos. of Chicago were posted with a "Notice of Unified Trustee's Sale." But Palermo has persevered through the years of economic crisis to reach this day with the community ship-shape and ready for the future. Miss Penny Lane says: She's sold on Palermo.

Year in review: Dues are not raised for another year in a row

Continuing Positively Palermo's second annual review of the top happenings at Palermo Palm Springs, No. 2 is that HOA monthly dues again for another year held steady at $294 per month. Miss Penny Lane says: She due for a nice long weekend at Palermo.

Positively Palermo received this e-mail: "Ms. Penney, Original owner here. Palermo looks better than the place did at move with plants growing over these years. New paint, streets, trees. Palermo is rockin'. It's just too bad the managers/boards aren't running Washington. Kudos!!!!!!!!" Miss Penny Lane says: She's been told she's only getting better too.

Positively Palermo returned home after a week of vacation to see Palermo's brand-new paved streets. Miss Penny Lane says: She gave up dye jobs long ago but these black streets may make her re-think it.

Palms go 360 at Palermo with re-plantings

Positively Palermo has been asked about the removal of Palermo palms several years ago in the wake of the re-planting of numerous of these trees in the community recently. These pictures are from Positively Palermo's archives, and show the blue ribbons put on palms slated for removal and the placement of these trees in the field and them being hauled away. Miss Penny Lane says: She's out to enjoy the weekend.

Positively Palermo has learned that a large number of fan palms today were added to Palermo, or a second batch of such plantings. These trees are in various locations at Palermo. We will try to post pictures. E-mail them to us if you have them. Miss Penny Lane says: She's always a fan of Palermo.

Today, Positively Palermo begins its second annual review of the top happenings at Palermo Palm Springs. No. 1 is the re-painting of the residences. Miss Penny Lane says: Palermo is No. 1 in her heart.
