Indian Canyon Drive is open again

Indian Canyon Drive between Palermo and the 10 is back open, after crews cleared out mud and rocks at the Whitewater Wash. The problem wasn't a levee break, despite what the newspaper reported. It was a problem involving the Whitewater River taking an "unexpected path" when the Coachella Valley Water District undertook a water replenishment project in the basins between the 10 and the 111. "The river had a mind of its own and changed course on us," a district official said. Miss Penny Lane says: If she had a mind of her own, she'd call in sick today to enjoy this sunny, warm Wednesday.
