Easter earthquake - Is everyone OK at Palermo?
Miss Penny Lane hopes you all are well after the earthquake. We all must rely on one another. It's up to us to draw up our safety and security plans because of the missing leadership here. If there's trouble at Palermo from more quakes, we should all plan to meet near the club house to work together. Report any damage/problems to management, and post them here too. Prayers and kisses to you all this Easter.

Penny, thanks for getting right on this and thinking of a plan. I just had posted a message about the Baja quake on another entry on this blog. Yes, prayers to us all here. It does look like to escaped this time but aftershocks are still a real threat. I like your idea about a gathering point. If we lose power there must be a plan. Furthermore, although I hate to say it, but during any disaster, we at Palermo must be ready to protect this place and our homes from looters coming from across Indian Canyon from those neighborhoods over there.
Oh, another point. With so many people from the Northwest , Midwest, and LA and elsewhere having second places here at Palermo, this site could be a resource to helping them determine if there property is all right if there's a big disaster, etc. So to all of them: It looks OK here.
All is well, it seems to me. A wake-up alarm. This complex needs to come together. My feeling is that this "management" is dangerous in that they don't promote us coming together and solving problems but need to make a buck.
Thank you for these updates. It's a relief as I am not there presently.
God Penney i just luv ya, your always so thougntful.
Did hear there have been some minor cracks from the quake or that the quake made some existing cracks worse. Developer should do an inventory.
Is so great to see there is such a great desire to come together, it is true we have to rely on each other to make Palermo a safe and secure place to live and to come together as a community to be there for each other for any situation that may arise here. I am grateful that we have this site to communicate with each other. Definately would be great to have a community meeting so those who love and care about Palermo can get to meet each other. Palermo is a very beautiful and special place to live. A suggestion we could call the group "Palermo Pride"
noticed yellow tape on most of the trees on Melody Lane..doesn anyone know what that is about?
I too saw a yellow tape on a tree on Sunburst. Are they going to rip out yet more trees? Please please. no. Palermo has also of pride. It's ironic that the bid to keep things secret and away from us is bring people together. The palm tree fiasco will be remembered. About the quake: Anyone think of an inspection?
Our unit also had quake damage - cracks in the concrete floors on the ground level.
Anyone feel the quake at 2:12 a.m. Saturday - a 5.1 mag? My place had a nice little shake.
I felt the quake early Saturday morning...my bed was shaking.... thought I was getting lucky till I realized it was an earthquake... LOL!!!!
Just my sense of humor coming through... we do really all need to think seriously about helping each other out in the event of any type of disaster here at Palermo...have a plan of action. Looking forward to the meeting on Wednesday evening.
Lobo LOL! You crack me up. (What about some kind of earthquake kit, flashlights, bright-colored vests to identify Palermo safety people after a quake, etc, or whatever else is needed stored in the clubhouse. The board should form a safety/emergency committee. A community watch would be great. Also, we need an email list for alerts. Maybe Ms. Penny could start this for us? )
wow!!! my first groupie..I feel like a star....Mr De Mille I am ready for my close up.
Oh well a legend in my own mind..LOL
Totally agree Palermo is one of the best in this class of communities in Palm Springs. It is up to us who live here to make it the best. From what I am seeing and hearing there are many here who take great pride in living here. I am one.
Agree complete with the above post.
Did anyone at Palermo feel those two quakes about noontime today (Saturday, May 8)? I felt both of them - very minor - here at the complex. I guess one was a 5.0 down in Mexico.
