The tree trimming has started. Good-bye yellow plastic tape
Some progress to report. Last week, Positively Palermo pointed out that for two months there has been yellow tape on numerous trees. The police-type plastic tape apparently marked trees for trimming — but nothing was being done since early April when the tape appeared. Now we have some action after complaints here. Crews arrived today, according to a resident e-mail. (See a photo submitted to this site by a resident.) Miss Penny Lane says: Why should such a simple thing such as tree trimming be such a difficult task for Palermo's caretakers to carry out in a timely manner?

I don't think they are done with all the trees yet.
yes is nice to see the trees getting done and they are doing a good job.. making our beautiful Palermo look even better.. I found out some interesting news today while I was getting gas at our local Valero, while filling I noticed a man discarding a cart and heading over to the valero. I as him why he left the cart on the side walk and he told me that he was told by the place he takes his cans for cash not to leave the cart there but to take it to Indian Canyon somewhere and there are guys from the city who will come to pick them up... This apparently is part of the cause of those carts we see across the street from Palermo. I think if the cans fo cash place need to be responsible in some way for the carts their clients are using to bring them cans and recycle products. I will call the city at the numbers provided on this site previously as I think other residents here should do as well. I once had someone tell me oh yeah I know where San Raefel and Indian are there are always shopping carts along the intersection, I was embarassed for this. Not sure what else we as a community can do to stop this cart littering outside our gates..
as I drove away I noticed the same man coming out of Valerio with a case of beer on his shoulder...I watched him, he put the case in the cart and headed back toward Palm Springs. At least he found a reuse for his cart...LOL
Why doesn't the city of Palm Springs make sure these carts are gone/picked up? I have also noticed that there are shopping carts left all over the city on the main streets. They are dotted EVERY WHERE around the city, but on Indian and San Rafeal there is a collection of them. These stores have to step up. And that recycling center is to blame too. They tell people to bring them to Indian Canyon.
I do wish that the tree trimmers & landscapers would work with residents before just axing limbs. My shade is gone when they could have taken some different branches just as easily. These guys doing the trimming aren't tree experts - they just clip, cut, ax.
