Surprise! HOA board to meet and make decisions on your community, but forgot to tell?

Positively Palermo woke up to surprising e-mails from owners about a quickly scheduled board meeting of the Palermo Palm Springs HOA, for 6 p.m. Thursday in the clubhouse. The last board meeting was adjourned to a meeting in August, and it was said then that no meetings would be held until then, we were told. Now, suddenly, a new board meeting is planned that was unexpected and unknown. One item on the agenda is the budget. All this recalls what happened in November 2010 when the board held a phone meeting few knew of to raise HOA fees. It was a sad moment for Palermo. Can't Palermo's HOA board do better than this now? Is this another sad day for openness, transparency and resident involvement? Miss Penny Lane says: She loves games, but she's grown tired of this one by the board.

One word: terrible.

Shows a disrepect for the owners.

When is it? Can we at least call in?

where and when is the meeting?

6 pm Thursday, clubhouse.

I stopped going to these meetings. You say something, they nod and say "good idea" and never act on it.

Is there a call in number?

It doesn't have one on the agenda on DRM's website.

So a surprise meeting, no agenda emailed out and no call in number? What is up?

This crummy. Without Penny, we would know nothing.

We'd like to know how this came to be. From past HOA experience we know it takes two board members to schedule a meeting like this so who were these two are that did this to us in this way. Disrespective to owners.

Remember how the board last year canceled a meeting and didn't tell anyone and people showed up. In my opinion, the board seems to be poorly run. clean house?

Best thing about Palermo: the residents. worst thing? The board.

Still no call number?

We rent our place thru VPM and Michael Heath and he is on the board and he would never do something like this short notice.

Yeah, Michael seems like a pretty trustworthy guy. I am very surprised by this. With no call in number though it makes me wonder what they are up to.

We should be careful not to lump all the board members into one group.

Ha, I was told by a friend that they pulled all budget money stuff off the agenda- way to go Penny.
