Board meeting set for May 12

An agenda has gone up for a HOA board meeting in the clubhouse at 5:30 p.m. this Wednesday, May 12. Miss Penny Lane says: Despite the short notice, everyone ought to attend and show their care for the Palermo community.

Are they going to cancel this one at the very last second too???

Me. I've given up on the board after blocking out the last meeting time to show up and then they were no-shows

looked at that agenda. not much on, so not worth going. this board makes all its big decisions outside the meetings anyhow, like digging out the palm tree. nothing mentioned at the Jan. meeting, then a just weeks later the trees were taken away.

was a very productive meeting, my first and I was quite impressed with the attendance. It left me feeling that the concerns of the community are being heard and that they Enterprise and DRM do care. Homeowners and Caring Residents expressed their concerns and I felt sincere concern from our leaders. We will now just wait and see.

I would agree. I sat in on the conference call, and I was happy with the participation from the attendees. I hope they keep the conf. call as a part of the future HOA meetings. I enjoyed listening in on the conversation, and actually learned alot about what is really going on in Palermo.

Re: the meeting. I thought it was odd that that board member Pat thought it was so wonderful that Enterprise was paying its HOA dues on its units. Why should we be grateful that the developer is just doing what it must. The Chicago exec's sure have these other board members trained. Can you say: LAPDOG.

Very funny when Patrick tried to pin down Bruce Bushore, the Enterprise rep, with specific deadlines (two weeks, 30 days, etc..) for projects. Everyone knows you have to do that with Bushore - but that's another post. Anyhoo, what Bruce should have said was: "I'll let you know after the meeting because once this meeting is over I'll call up my boss in Chicago and he'll tell me what to do and not to do, or when." LOL

I could not think of a fancy Blog name so I will go with my real name...Sarah. Sorry, I have never been in the closet about anything...so no alias name here on this wonderful site for communicating with other concerned homeowners...It was great to join in on the HOA meeting via conference call. I agree with everyone that our current state at Palermo is not what we thought it would be. (who knew the economy would tank so badly?) It was nice to know other homeowners are as passionate about their investment as we are and have decided to not walk away from their commitment. I believe we will get through this by banding together rather than pointing fingers. We can't panic. Let's be proactive like David with the shopping carts and Miss Penny Lane who has developed this site for us. Let's continue to work together to make Palermo the best Community in Palm Springs.

To Sarjane her post at 5:34 p.m.: I see a coming together of the community too. What is odd or sad, is that some of it has come because of disgust with management (DRM, board, developer) for ignoring problems. Now I would like to have EVERYBODY get on the same page. Yet strife. It's tiring. The developer can make some strides by getting a more approachable local rep here and doing a few improvements as a token of support to people who bought here 2-plus/3 years years ago. We stopped participating because of the grief and not being heard.

actually Palermo is the best community in PS (design, pools, people) but management sucks.

Hi neighbor! Yes, we have a great foundation. Please don't give up. It will get better.

We love this place. Let's just clean up the messes CREATED BY the community managers and board. Some of the board members did seem to get it at the meeting, I will say that. That's a start, right?

toally agree with sarjane...like the golden phoenix rising from a negative situation we will as a community, homeowners and caring residents get through this. I s absolutely correct because of Miss Penny Lane giving us a forum to express ourselves and because of many negative situation, it has brought this fabulous community together, I referred to it once as "Palermo Pride" and it shine brilliantly now, as a Team we can faces the challenges that lie ahead and as a community united we will figure out hopefully with Enterprise and DRM a plan to reslove the issues. I am a new resident and very proud to call Palermo my home. And very proud to see the spirit of pride so alive here. Great home great neigbbors feels good. Have a fabulous weekend everyone.

Now for something really important: Does anyone know the name of the guy walking two dogs - one big, one small? Talk about community. Yum.

What was that all about at the meeting about a feral cat eating a rat outside of Bushore's office?

Cat - Rat - Outside that office - Read into it a lot of symbolism.

what's this about a rat?

When is the next meeting?

The last place I lived there was rarely a spot open on the HOA Board and when there was, there were 2 or 3 candidates up for the spot. Doesn't it speak volumes that there are two open spots on the board right now and not one single homeowner wants to join? What does that say about who is already on it? Hmmm. I wouldnt want to deal with most of them, either.
