The cameras are in the clubhouse and gym

Miss Penny Lane has just learned that the long-awaited cameras are now in the clubhouse and gym. Those who have been here for the last years know the long haul it was to get the management finally to put them in. We've lost gym equipment, a flat screen, tables and chairs. The pool table and sticks have been damaged. At last, security cameras have arrived. Miss Penny Lane says: A big thank you to all who made this happen and demanded it happen.

About time.

Good. But yes: About time. Are we so downtrodden that we have to praise a move that should have been completed long ago?

Love it. Now we can see who of our Palermo residents are propping open the workout room doors to allow anyone free access to our Clubhouse, gym equipment, furniture, television equipment and anything else they wish to take. I often ask people not to do this and those that refuse to stop are renters not paying the HOA fees and footing the bill for the ever-disappearing funrtinure and equipment.

The cost should be paid by enterprise. they are milking us.

There now are signs saying that video cameras are watching over the front and back gates. This makes me feel better.

There needs to better oversight on who the hell rents here.....Not wanting to judge, but we have let some shady people in here.

The renters HOA fees are being paid for by Enterprise...and the renters are keeping this place afloat.

There is NO SECURITY HERE for the following reasons (which the HOA can/should correct, but does not): 1. There is no arm at the gate and anyone can follow behind a car legitimately entering the community, 2. There is a high tenant turn over and they don't change the previous tenants gate code when they move out, 3. Colt Security comes and goes, but never when there is a crime occuring, 4. There was a crystal meth lab here for over a year, HOA was notified and nothing was done about it (in fact a board member even defended them) their gate codes still haven't been changed that they gave out to all their customers, 5. Any thug can easily jump over or push in the temporary fences to gain entry (they throw rocks into rear glass doors to remove flat screen TV's which has happened already), 6. Anyone can crawl under the front gates and trip the motion sensor to open the exit gates to allow access (there are no road spikes to prevent auto entry via this way). 7. There is no unified neighborhood watch. We have a false sense of security which is intensified by HOA/DRM's benign disposition.

Fadi Khouri and Itaf Khouri are the owners of 3651 Melody Lane. These owners should be contacted DRM or the HOA about what happened at his property.

In response to the above security concerns, the community is constrained by what was built by Enterprise and how much money the HOA has to spend. DRM has changed the gate codes. Colt is here to deter crime but if a crime is occurring you need to call the police. The security budget was increased to allow for more intermittent visits by Colt and to add the security cameras at the front gate and inside the clubhouse. There is no proof a lab was ever here. It appears that the break-ins I have heard about came from someone jumping the north and west cement walls. Homeowners in these units should consider their own in-home security system. There is a neighborhood watch program that is just getting started and a meeting with the PS police department is in the works. If you see a crime CALL THE POLICE.

The clubhouse should be closed at night if the HOA/DRM can't ensure that it isn't being used for illegal activity.
