Concerns about the upkeep of Palermo's Phase 2 land

Positively Palermo receive this e-mail: "Penny, Thank you for what you do. Who is in charge of the undeveloped area? Residents have taken to cleaning it up, like sweeping up broken glass and removed abandoned items like brooms that end up there for some reason. The trees in front of the empty models badly need trimming and the branches hit my car's roof when I left. Why is the bank that owns this land ignoring the basic upkeep??? Can the Palermo HOA force them to do something about this??? Who is in charge because it is being neglect it seems and need some TLC???" Miss Penny Lane says: She does a swerve-y in the morning to avoid that tree. It help wakes up on her way to work.

Good questions about the upkeep.

Is Michael Heath, CEO of VPM, still the trustee? Contact him AND Brandi at DRM. They should be aware of the problem.

This kind of concern for Palermo, is so commendable. It not only sets a positive tone for the environment here, in general, but it also attracts potential buyers (renters, owners, developers, et al). Continue to focus on maintaining Palermo and keeping it in tip-top form. Developers will be looking for that when they make a bid to purchase. Owners and renters should tone down their bickering back and forth about who is to blame for small issues and matters. Remember this is a public blog, and anyone seeking to rent or own at Palermo, could easily come across all the communications regarding what it is like to live at Palermo. All developments have issues, but BLAMING each other--owners/renters; renters/owners, does not solve anything. The public is listening. Focus on the bigger business at hand--maintaining Palermo, running the Association and leave the small stuff to small-minded people.

Michael Heath is the one in charge of this area? Really? He has a better rep in the community than what we are seeing this this area. We love Palermo it is great. Love this blog gives us a voice. Everyone reads it and then things get done.

Micheal Heath, CEO of Village Property Mgmt, is (or was) the court appointed trustee for the property until it is sold to a successful, qualified developer/owner. It made sense to do this because Michael manages (and other privately owned units) the 34 unsold units that were foreclosed on by the bank of the Enterprise Dev company. THIS MAY HAVE CHANGED, but he and Brandi both should be aware of this issue. They will get action, believe me.

To 8:55, we should not have to notify anyone. The bank should be watching over this or their local rep should!

To 9:39am, in a perfect, ideal world, you are absolutely right. However, you and I know, that world does not exist. No one, not Mr. Heath, not DRM, not the bank or even the new developer (should one be forthcoming), is going to care more for Palermo than you the owners and renters. This is true of any community. It is the responsibility of the owners, those who have a vested interest, to maintain the community in the manner that they deem will best protect and advance THEIR interests. It is on you and your fellow Palermoites, sorry to break this news, but would you want it any other way?
