HOA bills coming late in the mail?

Positively Palermo received this e-mail: "Dear Penny, Why are we getting our HOA bills from DRM so late near the 1st of the month when they are due? Do others have this problem?" Miss Penny Lane says: She hates late charges because they cut into her clothing allowance.

The easiest thing to do a a direct deposit from your bank to DRM. You don't have to worry about the bill.

But if you go to the DRm Web site it says they no loner are taking electronic payments as of May 17. What is up with that?

Yes, we also have not received the monthly invoice.

I contacted DRM and yes, will be sending them out late again.

Are they charging late fees? This is crazy. Sending out these monthly bills is a basic and they can't do this right?

We live in Canada and now must pay ahead because the bill always comes late - now it is coming even later. This is not professional.

Brandi at DRM says they are changing their computer program that generates the bills and that is why they are late this time. But, I have complained to her the last several months about the late bills and she always has some excuse.

I don't buy it anymore. This is aBASIC function of a management company. The bugs should have been worked outnlong before a change over. This excuse is unbelievable.

You called DRM? I was told they would not take phone complaints any longer ...

This is the 1 pm poster and I emailed Brandi. I did not call DRM. Brandi is pretty good about getting back to emails.

DRM touts being part of a huge management company but they can't get a switch over of monthly bill right after months and months?

I just got mine today!!!

So make sure you do not pay a late fee. DRM can not charge for their delinquency. Just pay your HOA dues once you receive a bill. End of story. The question here is why does this happen if we are paying for them to "manage" our property?

I hope the board deals with this.
