Sales, sales, sales at Palermo Palm Springs

It's been a busy few months, with plenty of sales at Palermo Palm Springs. Many units are off the market or in escrow since we last did a "best guess" rundown of what's available. Based on for-sale signs in the windows, eviction/foreclosure-type notices posted on front doors and Internet listings, here a list of what appears to be for sale:
- 210 Enterprise Way. Two bedroom, two floor D-unit. 1,286 square feet.
- 248 Sandy Point. Two bedroom, two story loft A-unit, 1,375 square feet.
- 258 Sandy Point. Two bedroom two story B-unit. 1,320 square feet.
- 272 Breeze Loop. Two bedroom, two story loft A-unit, 1,375 square feet. May be in escrow.
- 3586 Sunburst. Two bedroom, single level G-unit. 1,131 square feet. No sign but was listed online.
- 3697 Quiet Side. Two bedroom, single level G-unit. 1,131 square feet. Uncertain if this is still on the market. Conflicting information on the Internet.

Units that have recently sold, according to the Internet, are: 235 Sandy Point, 3542 Melody Lane, 3671 Melody Lane, 3636 Sunburst, 3587 Quiet Side, 3617 Quiet Side and 3627 Quiet Side. Also, 210 Enterprise Way and 3563 Penny Lane may be in escrow or already sold, but the for-sale signs are still up. 3686 Sunburst has had the for-sale sign taken down and now is occupied. Please e-mail if you have corrections, changes, additions. Miss Penny Lane says: Come to Palermo and join our jolly crew of good spirits.

9/30 UPDATE: A resident reports to Positively Palermo that the 3697 Quiet Side and 272 Breeze Loop condos have been sold.

Miss Penny Lane for HOA Board! Rather than hide behind your anonymous website, why don't you really make a difference and step out of the shadows?

Anyone notice the paint color that is being painted over the bold rust color I found so attractive. It looks like they added pink to the color....I hope it is a primer !

This community is the biggest bunch of babies I have ever seen. You all cry and complain about everything yet you do nothing except nit-pick and everything and everyone. No wonder no one wants to come and live here either by purchasing or renting. And as a matter of fact when ANYONE visits one of the condos here and happens to ask me how Palermo is ........ and this happens often ....... I tell them that everyone that lives here are the biggest cry babies and complainers in the world. The HOA, the residents that own here are just the worst and I also tell anyone all over the valley when they ask about here.
Get a life you idiots ............. this is the worst place anyone could ever live because of all you idiot complaining babies.
I can promise you that I will continue to tell everyone to NOT move here if I can.

To 11:55AM: I admire your committment to consistency, but you missed a blog entry to post your blathering rant to. Why not keep going and post it to every blog entry here? Seems like it might be a good use of your time.

Tundra tabby - good point. Actually, there have been a lot of sale recently and ANY unit that comes up for rent is snapped up within days or a week.

I have to agree with 1:56. The homes here are selling and bringing in some wonderful and positive new additions to our community. And I definitely do not believe this is a community of nit-pickers. Rather it seems to me we have a good group of residents, full-time, part-time, renters and owners who care about the big and little stuff that is so important to maintaining the high standards of construction, design, landscaping and amenities that this community was built and sold on. If you really think it is a bad place to live you should really consider moving on to a more positive place for yourself rather than stoop to name-calling (idiots? really?) at your neighbors. I'll just post this here rather than try to hit every string on this blog because I trust that the readers of this blog are intelligent folks that do not need to be clubbed over the head with multiple postings that clog up other discussions.

And I must say that I don't believe Miss Penny is hiding behind this blog (11:06 am) but rather providing a welcome and essential service to our community with this forum. Service on the board is one avenue to support Palermo, picking up garbage as you walk your dog another, and there are many more ways that quietly happen each and every day without recognition that help make this the pleasant community it is. All are important and to be valued. Thank you Miss Penny for your service as you see fit.

Not everyone needs to be on the board, that would mean the board would 117 people on it. Everyone can make their own unique contribution. Penny Lane is doing her part. In fact, she's done more than anyone to bring this community together. She's our cheerleader, historian and watchdog. From my vantage point, much of what the board or DRM has done is because it started right here - cameras, security, getting a lawyer to look out for our interests in terms of Enterprise, and it goes on and on. The improvements wouldn't have happened otherwise. We'd be forgotten about. But now we have this place to go. I do agree with "11:06 a.m. poster" that the board needs someone who knows at least something about communications. That's a big hole on the board.

I think there must be a poster from management/board trying to knock down every concern raised here by trying to deflect the attention elsewhere. Reminds me of someone I work with. Every time there's a problem in her area she ignores it and attacks the person for "complaining" and then tries to steer the discussion in that direction. I'm happy that people here aren't giving into these deflection tactics. Management can't have it both ways - saying they want people to be involved but then dismiss them when they have real concerns. Furthermore, the childish language this person is using is like a school-yard bully with name-calling at that age-level as well. My bet would be that this person will be gone from the community once he can sell, so we won't have that kind of childish negativity to deal with. Good riddance - like Penny says: We have a jolly crew here. And that doesn't mean we can't point out areas that need improvement.

I want to say to you all that I love it here at the Palermo. It's the best place in Palm Springs, with the design, pools and neighbors. Love this site, too, very Palm Springs, California.

Does anyone know what's going with the new painting? The color isn't the same as the original. It's more like a dusty rose (yuck!). Maybe it is a primer but no one has informed us of this.

Penny, your for-sale list is outdated because more have been sold in the past weeks - the ones on Breeze and Quiet Side.

All of them are either sold or in escrow right now. They sure moved fast!

I talk to many renters who want to buy in Palermo because they like it so much. It is a great community with poeople who care. The poster who ranted on probably is one of those who is bitter because he could care less and has been called on the carpet for something against HOA regulation. There are plenty of places to live in the desert......get the hell out of our community....I am sure there is a trailer with your name on it somewhere.

One real estate web site says the two on Melody and one on Sunburst have "sales pending," so if so, there's only one left, on Enterprise, and that one has no sign and isn't listed. but people think it is for sale because it is empty.

Our realtor says nothing is now available at Palermo, unless you put in a back-up offer on some in escrow.
